I guess you could say things are getting pretty serious between my grill and I. Especially after this Grilled Spicy Italian Chicken Sausage & Peppers recipe.
Now I don’t know when chicken sausage became a thing, but boy, am I sure glad it did.
Before I start, I just want to preface this post by saying: I know it’s weird to consider grocery shopping fun and therapeutic. But you know what?! Yolo! If I want to stress buy all natural cacao powder, let me live. You other girls can have shoes.
My pick of the poison: Sprouts Farmers Market. It’s a grocery store chain that is popping up in many states. But honesty, it’s not just a grocery store. It’s so much more than that. It’s a food wonderland. There are so many clean food options to choose from. Now, when I say clean, I’m not saying weird diet food. Like the slimfast bars you stumbled upon in your childhood pantry (that stuff is not clean), thinking you were going to get a sweet treat. I’m saying that when you throw sliced deli turkey in your shopping cart, you are actually getting sliced deli turkey! Imagine that? Such an exciting thing, people. So much of our food is highly processed, so it’s important to be checking labels. That way you know what you are putting into your body. After all, you are what you eat!
Anyways, back to chicken sausage. Sprouts has THE BEST chicken sausage ever. They stuff it there from what I know. I typically work them into my weeknight meals every week. You can cook them in marinara with pasta, grill-out and have them as hot dogs, or in this case throw some veggies in mix. The best part, no weird funky ingredients and it all comes together in under 20 minutes.
Great sides for this dish include rice, baked potatoes, or even some baked beans.
